Secret Santa

Don't forget to send your child with their Secret Santa gift by Tuesday, December 18th.  Please don't hesitate to let me know if you aren't able to bring in a gift.  We will make sure every student who wants to participate, gets the opportunity.

Holiday Fun

Thanks to everyone who signed up to bring items for our activities next week.  Please bring your items to school no later than Monday, December 17th so I can have time to get any items that may still be needed.

JA Biztown- January 23rd

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help on this trip.  Due to the large numbers of parents who signed up to attend, we had to do a lottery to determine the volunteers for the trip. If you returned the volunteer form, you will find a letter in your child's Friday Folder explaining the process.

If your name was selected as a volunteer, you will receive an email about a week before the trip from the Biztown coordinators with information about the online training that is to be completed before the trip.  If your name was not selected, I have added your name to the alternate list.  In the event that selected parents are not able to attend, we will notify you.

Thank you again to everyone who volunteered.  I wish everyone could attend.

Busy December

This time of year is always so fun and very busy!  Please take a moment to read some updates and reminders.

December Calendar of Activities:

• We are planning lots of fun activities for the month of December.  If you are able to donate any items needed for our activities, please visit the sign up genius link. Holiday Fun Sign Up  If you sign up to bring supplies or goodies, please make sure to send them to school by Friday, December 14th.
• On Friday your child should've come home with a permission form and information about our Secret Santa gift exchange.  Please let me know if you'd rather your child not participate or if you have any questions.  We will be drawing names this Friday. Please bring Secret Santa Gifts to school no later than Monday, December 17th!
• Desk Wrapping:  Beginning Friday, December 14th, students will be allowed to bring in wrapping paper to wrap the top of their desks for the rest of the holiday season.  This is optional, but it makes our room look really festive.  If you are able to donate a roll of wrapping paper for other students to use, that would be appreciated as well!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Check your child's Friday Folder for the Parent Teacher Conference Sign Up form.  In 5th grade, we love to have the students attend the conference if possible, so make sure to choose some dates/times that work for both you and your child.  If you are not able to attend a conference during the times listed on the sheet, please send me an email, so we can find a time that works. I look forward to talking with everyone next month.

RBE Morning Announcements

This month our class has been reading the morning announcements to RBE over the intercom.  Everyone who has volunteered to read has done a great job!

Trip to the Planetarium

Last week we visited the Planetarium at RBHS.  We watched an interesting program called "Journey to Earth." We also got to hang out in the halls of RBHS while we waited for our bus. :)
