MCU Trip, Tobacco Presentation, and More!

MCU Trip

Last week our class visited out Partner's in Education at the Missouri Credit Union for a job shadowing field trip.  Students listened to MCU's president, took a tour of the bank, learned a lot about some the jobs behind the scenes at the bank, and enjoyed some Shakespeare's Pizza.  Check out some pictures below. 

Tobacco Presentation

This week a nurse from the health department spoke to our 5th graders about the negative health effects of tobacco use as part of our Health Science Unit called "We've Got the Power".  Students learned a lot of staggering statistics and learned some tools to help them say "No" when they are faced with the peer pressure to try tobacco. 

5th Grade Science Show

Mike Szydowski, CPS Science Coordinator, put on a really cool science show for all the 5th Graders.  Check out our own Davis Graham assisting with an experiment. 

Fifth Grade Panoramic Photo

If you purchased a 5th Grade Panoramic Photo from Wagner Portrait, we have GOOD news and BAD news. The good news is that they are in!  The bad news is that they were printed with the wrong year.  The good news is that they are reprinting them and the new ones should be in soon.  The one with mistake is yours to keep too. :)
